SSL
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a protocol originally developed by Netscape Communications to enable encrypted, authenticated communications across a network. SSL used mostly in communications between web browsers and web servers. URL's that begin with 'https' indicate that an SSL connection will be used.
X.509
X.509 standard is an authentication certificate scheme recommended by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) which is used for SSL/TLS authentication.
XML
eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is a subset of SGML constituting a particular text markup language for interchange of structured data. XML is a trademark of the World Wide Web Consortium.
