- SSL
- Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a protocol originally developed by Netscape Communications to enable encrypted, authenticated communications across a network. SSL used mostly in communications between web browsers and web servers. URL's that begin with 'https' indicate that an SSL connection will be used.
- X.509
- X.509 standard is an authentication certificate scheme recommended by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) which is used for SSL/TLS authentication.
- XML
- eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is a subset of SGML constituting a particular text markup language for interchange of structured data. XML is a trademark of the World Wide Web Consortium.
