GWL Involvement Helps GSTN become SSTN

September 2001

Global Web Limited's (GWL) commitment to excellence has helped the success of the pilot project Grampian Science and Technology Network (GSTN) and its emergence as the Scottish Science and Technology Network (SSTN).

Grampian Science and Technology Network was a pilot project which ran for a year with 28 primary schools in the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire area. This project gives teachers and pupils the advantage of a mentor (within industry) and access through the site to an immense resource library.

The initiative, a partnership between Scottish Enterprise Grampian and BP, hopes to encourage school pupils to pursue the science and technology curriculum and become scientists of the future.

The Scottish Science and Technology Network has been given the go ahead by SEG and GWL is proud to be a part of this initiative. Already, the schools and mentors have steadily grown and the project seems clearly benchmarked for success.
