Wireless Internet Data Recorder

This was a short pilot programme, constructed for a major oil company in less than 30 calendar days. This project was to allow the remote, wireless collection of data from a pen-based Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to an enterprise database. Once collected, the data was then analysed and accessible via the corporate Intranet.

This project included:

• User requirement analysis
• Rapid Software Development
• Integration with an existing corporate database
• Use of standard ("off the shelf") handheld computer
• Integration with MS Windows CE, Java and Oracle databases
• Production of web services
• Documentation of the project
